Let’s Get After It!
Starting off by providing a brief introduction of myself and then summarizing the focus of the “Friday Reading” newsletter series. My name is Aaron David Garfinkel and I grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. I graduated from the University of Florida with a Masters Degree in Real Estate in May 2019 and I now work as a Real Estate Capital Markets Associate. Over the last two years, I also have experience working as an Independent Consultant and Macro Analyst. Additionally, I have been investing ever since I got my first Bar Mitzvah check and the interest is deeply rooted all the way back to the first time that I visited my dad’s wealth management office during a “take your kids to work” day! Two of my passions are writing and financial markets, which is what lead to the inception of the “Friday Reading” series during October of 2022. Lastly, I love snowboarding and spending time with my friends and family.
Friday morning every week I will be publishing this piece to end the week with a bang, but most importantly, provide relevant commentary that sparks deep thought to contemplate over the weekend. The subjects of focus will be all financial markets, behavior, consumerism, economics, culture, and Macro. At times, I will offer my own strategic view, however the key takeaways will based on an unbiased data driven analysis. This is a calm space, so feel free to sit down with a hot cup of Coffee (my personal preference), Tea, or beverage of choice and enjoy. The content offered is my own perspective and interpretation of market strategy. This is not investment advice.
Helping others learn has been always top of mind and my goal is to create an environment in which encourages the transfer and growth of knowledge. Through my short investing career and studying markets, I’ve recognized the blatant sensationalism of financial media which is borderline negligent. My work is constructed to not only address significant topics of markets, behavior, consumerism, economics, culture, and Macro, but challenge prevailing “narratives” and popular Media/YouTube/ Fin-Twit fallacy.
Taking the time here to thank Keith McCullough and the Hedgeye Risk Management Team for the inspiration and knowledge that I have gained through my years of studying their work. Additionally
, who is one of the creators of Tier One Alpha, has been a tremendous source that does incredible work. He publishes on this platform as well. I Will likely be citing their work from time to time in the future. For the moment, the content offered will be free of charge, but the ability to “pledge support” is available. I am incredibly grateful and appreciate all donations at this time while I focus on developing my work, skills, and strategy. Thank you for your interest!Best regards,
Aaron David Garfinkel
